Pitstop 2 - Introduction

Nature:
Pitstop 2 is a very important bromination reagent, which can stably release bromine without releasing free chlorine. It is soluble in ethanol, chloroform, dimethylformamide and Ether solvents at room temperature, but almost insoluble in water.

NBS is widely used in bromination reactions in organic synthesis, especially when producing olefins or aromatic compounds. Preparation Method:
Pitstop 2 can react ethyl acrylate with bromine to obtain ethyl bromoacrylate, then react with succinimide to obtain 4-bromopropylimide, and then synthesize NBS with hypobromomethane.
